Hi, I’m Julie Cohen, I’m an artist and these are some of my paintings and drawings. I paint using watercolours, with and without ink, and draw with graphite pencils. I have been painting and drawing since early childhood, and I love to paint flowers, landscapes, people and animals.

I am particularly passionate about portraiture, and have painted and drawn a variety of portraits featuring children, adults and pets from photographs. Portraits of children and pets work particularly well with watercolour and pencils, as both media enhance the light, movement and grace of the subject.

Portraits can capture a special stage in the life of a child or pet, which can then be enjoyed by family members for generations.

I work exclusively from photographs, therefore eliminating the inconvenience of repeated sittings and allowing me to create portraits of children and pets, as well as adults.
